The iCompost Swedish Insulated Rotational Dual Chamber Tumbler - 70 GAL is a Deluxe Dual Chamber Insulated Hot Compost Tumbler - 70 gallons / 270 liters.

Jora 270. Designed and tested in the cold north of Sweden, this advanced rotational tumbler is heavily insulated so that the internal temperatures can reach 160_F - promoting enhanced microbial activity for faster breakdown. Two compartments (each with their own handled access doors) allow for continuous composting Ð fill one side up and let in cook, while adding food scraps to the other side. Sturdy metal ground stand elevates drum to a comfortable height for more convenient loading of food scraps and emptying of finished compost. When the first chamber is fully decomposed in as little as 8 weeks, empty the mature side and repeat the process. Highly recommended by staff for the colder latitudes but will work effectively in all climate zones. Capacity - 70 gallons / 270 liters.

• Activation of pile is accelerated by the addition of fresh manure or living compost from an active pile
• Chamber is considered functionally full when less than 4 inches of open space remains at the top
• Chopping up the waste before adding it to the unit will greatly reduce the decomposition time
• Use sawdust, shredded cardboard or coir to absorb excess moisture, and structure to finish compost, and provide a carbon source to help balance out the high nitrogen food waste
• Rotate unit 1-2 turns with each addition of new waste. For excessively moist piles, rotate more frequently
• Keep out soup, sauces, milk and other liquids
