The Classic Louvered Poly Estate Bin - 21.5 CF is an attractive compost bin is suitable for virtually all garden settings. Made from a durable resin blend, this unit is designed to hold up to the elements and is completely resistant to mold, rot and insects.  To provide convenient access to the active pile, the front side sports 5 removal rails, each with an indented handle for easy gripping. The remaining three sides each feature 5 reinforced louvered slats - the angled design insures proper ventilation for aerobic microbes. Unit is open at the top and bottom - all liquid drains into the ground below. You will NOT want to hide this composter!

To retain moisture and heat, create a wool topper by cutting two 32” x 32” cubes out of an old dark-colored wool blanket. Sew the pieces together using a poly-thread and stuff with scrap cuttings from the remaining portion of the blanket. Place on top during the colder months or dry spells. Place on permeable ground to insure proper drainage of liquid compost tea. Since unit is open at the top, bury food scraps in the center of pile to prevent hungry critters from being attractive to exposed food.
